This is 55th wecancook at studio41st hostel in seoul.

Hi~ I am Evy :)

In this time, I will show you how to cook a Korean-style sweet pancake.
Hotteok is one of the most popular street snacks in Korea, especially in winter.
It is a flour dough pancake filled with sugar syrup inside.
Since Korean winters are very cold, many Koreans like hot foods to warm up, like a Hotteok, Fish cake skewer with soup, a fish-shaped bun, a baked sweet potato and etc. So we have many kinds of winter food and most korean enjoy to eat that.
When I was younger I bought and eat it on the street vendor often, but not now.
Anyway~ I made hotteok for our guest :)~

* Ingredients: Flour, water, dry yeast, salt, oil, (sugar, brown sugar, peanut, and cinnamon powder).

(How to cook)
Make hotteok dough:
1. Place 3 tbs dry yeast, 1 cup of lukewarm water into a mixing bowl.
2. Add flour, 2 tbs white sugar, 2 tbs solt and mix.

Make filling (for 8 hotteok):
3. Mix ½ cup brown sugar, 1 ts cinnamon powder, and 2 tbs chopped peanut in a bowl.
4. Put your hands with oil
5. Take 1 dough ball, flatten it, put some filling in the center of the dough, and then seal it to make a ball.
6. Heat up your non-stick pan over medium heat and add some oil.
7. Place 1 ball on the pan and let it cook for 30 seconds. (Let it cook about 1 minute until the bottom is golden brown.)

Did you have some fun in this time?
Next time I will cook  Sweet and Sour Chicken (Dak gangjeong)
